What's your idea of the best travel camera? A lightweight compact digital camera for travelling light? Or perhaps some splendid piece of kit that will take professional quality images, worthy of your holiday of a lifetime?
Or do you travel so light that you prefer to rent camera equipment at your destination?
For most photographers who travel, it's a trade off between weight and ruggedness, both for their own physical comfort, and because of restricted baggage allowances.
A a great book came out recently, called The Best Camera is the One That's with You: iPhone Photography by Chase Jarvis (Voices That Matter) - and there's a lot of truth in that. Even mobile phones can do a great job now - especially if you like to 'instantly share' your travels by email or on social networking sites.
