Banana Island - Bananas & Sugar Cane

There's an exotic, tropical feel as you walk amongst banana palms on Banana Island. It's a luxuriantly shady place to picnic and relax, to taste the bananas and chew on some sugar cane. Fresh sugar cane is surprisingly flavoursome, much more interesting than processed sugar - a really unusual holiday treat for the children!

A note about Swimming

For daily swimming in the Luxor area you'll probably use one of the excellent, inexpensive swimming pool. To combine swimming with sightseeing, spend a day at Crocodile Island's palm-fringed swimming pool.

Don't swim in the Nile River even though you'll see Luxor people swimming in it.
